11:00 - 11:45 Differentiating the Customer Experience in a Teardown Economy
by Steve Keifer, VP Industry and Product Marketing at GXS
High tech is dominated by increasingly short product lifecycles and intense competition. Within hours of a product launch teardowns are on the Internet extensively documenting design secrets, supplier lists and component costs. Differentiation based upon product performance and feature is hard to maintain so high tech manufacturers are seeking opportunities to differentiate through improved customer service, business process excellence and supply chain efficiencies.  This presentation will review market trends challenging differentiation based upon product feature alone and illustrate techniques for competing based upon technology and supply chain excellence

Steve KeiferSteve Keifer leads a team responsible for GXS strategy in the High
Tech, Automotive, Consumer Products and Financial Services industries.  Steve joined GXS in 2004 and has spearheaded a number of initiatives including the company’s strategy in the Chinese automotive market and most recently the launch of a new suite of banking solutions.

Presentation content: This presentation will describe the elements of a complex supply chain model operated by Arrow Electronics on behalf of a Global OEM. It will focus on the flow of information that is required to support the flow of goods in an environment where inventory availability needs to be balanced by minimum supply chain costs. The challenges of operating a global model where supply chain partners have individual operational demands, and where legal and regulatory requirements differ between regions and countries, will be discussed

Chris Reddall is responsible for the Logistics Operations that support the Supply Chain programmes with Arrow Electronics’ global customers. In this role, during the past 4 years, I have been closely involved with the development of the operational capabilities that support Arrow’s Global Supply Chain Model with Ericsson AB, in Asia, Europe and the Americas. This capability is based on nearly 40 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution operations, much of which has been in the electronics sector, as a manager and sometime consultant. 15:30 - 16:15 The tipping point dilemma
by Peter Stevens, Director IT - Global Corporate Applications at Godiva Chocolatier
In continued global economic difficult times, organizations – and especially SME’s – are challenged and confronted with their inside costs and efficiencies, and are striving to optimize their environments in better, faster, more reliable and interdependent ways. For these, and other, reasons, more and more organizations are going back to “main stream” or “core business” and are sharing the production line responsibilities within and outside of their organizations and forming partnerships throughout. This is leading to more need for accurate, timely and consistent data information flows, which by itself are challenged back into the SME size and knowledge skills of the workforce and means at disposal of tools, processes and procedures. We are pleased to share with you our past decade experience on handling this challenge …

Peter Stevens has twenty plus years experience across a wide breadth of business processes, projects and international organizations within various industries.

Provided strategic leadership in eBusiness, business process engineering, portfolio management, and IT service development.

Most recently responsible for the Global IT Carve Out exercise for Godiva’s divesting from Campbell Soup Company in its quest as being a stand alone organization. This has led to an important return on investment back into EBIT for the organization.

Currently Program responsible for the establishment of Global ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) for the Global Godiva environment, implementing a single instance from the current 5 ERP systems, more importantly striving to Global Standardized Best Industry Practice Processes for Plan to Manufacture, Procure to Pay, Record to Report and Order to Cash environments.
