The EDIFICE
Business area Task Groups report the
following activities:
BILL-eInvoicing
by Tony Nisbett of IBM, BILL Chair
The BILL Task
Group met on the previous day and
wishes to encourage the membership
to delegate their eInvoicing experts
to contribute to the TG activities.
The BILL group is a forum where
member companies speak openly about
eInvoicing issues and solutions. A
forum where all eInvoicing experts
can contribute and learn.
Tony
represents EDIFICE in the CEN/ISSS
forum and reports on the last
meetings. The objective of the
initiative is to stimulate further
standardization work in the domain
of electronic invoices in Europe
DCM – Distribution Channel
Management
by Juergen Linkens of Freescale
Semiconductor, DCM Chair
Juergen
reports that DCM decided not to
further pursue the request for a new
3A1/5D1 equivalent standalone
response PIP with RosettaNet. DCM
recommends to use a copy of the
3A1/5D1 response when required. The
group started with the update of its
Business Model guideline (BIM) to
reflect the change from Supplier &
Distributor to Distribution Channel
Management. The 5D1 process flow for
standalone response is being
included.
The 2008 plans are to publish the
updated BIM (Repository 2008-1 end
of May publication) and to continue
the Global Distribution Supply Chain
Optimization project (GDSCO) in
collaboration with EIDX. DCM holds
monthly conference calls on the 1st
Wednesday of each month at 4 PM CET.

EDIFICE
Organisation:
The 104th
Plenary meeting duly elects Stefan
Harrstedt of Sony Ericsson Mobile
Communications as Vice-Chair. The
Officers are pleased to welcome
Stefan in the team.
The 104th
Plenary approves the proposal to
change the frequency of Plenary
meetings from quarterly to
three times a year. This
change will further
improve the quality of the
events because it will allow more
time for organizers to address
potential speakers with
relevant theme related topics.
The Plenaries will be scheduled in
February, June and October of each
year.
The September
and November Plenaries of 2008 are
combined into one big event.
The 106th Plenary is
hosted by SonyEricsson and the
University of Lund in Lund Sweden.
The exact date will be published
soon.
It was
discussed and agreed that EDIFICE
will as of now password protect all
Plenary presentations. Member
representatives will have continuous
access to the Plenary material
making use of their personal login.
Several
companies within EDIFICE, actively
trading in Asia, have raised
concerns about the lack of an
equivalent organisation in the
region, to address the many
challenging B2B/eCommerce related
business processes and
procedures. Members of EDIFICE are
currently formulating a white
paper aimed to define necessary
activities and actions in order to
validate the idea and to gain
widespread approval and support from
industry organisations as well as
membership.

EDIFICE thanks
Karel Crombach, Jay Banerjee, Craig
Rode, Robert Meshew and Bill Gerould

Maria Jahnova was our contact for
Microsoft in Prague and we thank her

and all at Infosys for the
sponsoring of the Plenary Dinner.
Special thanks
go to all our speakers for their
outstanding performance and the
